Brookfield interviewed Dr. Clifford Schoff on November 11th 2008. Dr.Schoff retired from the Automotive Coatings Department of PPG Industries, Inc. in Allison Park, PA after 30 years of research and problem solving on coatings.

Viscosity has been the source of many a problem in the coatings industry. These have encompassed mixing and pumping difficulties during manufacturing as well as coverage and lay down issues during application. Dr. Cliff Schoff has seen it all during his lengthy tenure in the world of paints and coatings. He has had direct involvement in establishing several of the test methods for paints and coatings currently published in the ASTM.
